I openly admit it.
I love the parks, whether it’s the Orlando-based compound that is Walt Disney World, or the tiny California original that is Disneyland.
And while I enjoy different things from each park, one of my favorite things is the Main Street Electrical Parade.
I first saw the parade in 1981 at Magic Kingdom in Florida. It went away for awhile, but recently made a much-deserved retro return to California Adventure a few years back.
I don’t care how many times I see it, there’s just something about it that reminds me of being a little kid and not having to deal with any drama or bullshit.
My mom, sister and girlfriend made a post-Christmas stop at Disneyland this past Friday, and we stuck around in the blistering cold just long enough to end our day with the Main Street Electrical Parade.

I learned a long time ago, on my first and only trip to Disneyland, that they don’t like it when you say “What kind of Mickey Mouse organization are they running here?” everytime something goes wrong.

we had a Disney album that played the parade song…i swear, every time i hear the intro with the robotic voice: welcome to the electrical parade…i get such chills
