You shouldn’t be online anyway. Shut down your computer, turn off your TV, throw “Thriller” into your CD player, and reminisce about your childhood.
Don’t stop ’til you get enough,

I remember when I was young my parents let me stay up late to watch the “Black or White” video premiere on TV. I don’t even remember how old I was but I was quite young. I remember afterward when he morphed from a panther and did a crazy dance.
It didn’t seem that long ago, but I think it was like 1991-92.. Crazy..

Thriller is a damn good record. I remember the world premier of the Thriller video and watching it over and over again. Zombies can boogie! His personal life did a good deal of damage to his career but he was a very talented dude. It’s wierd to see icons pass because you tend to take them for granted as always being around.
It is a bit shocking that he died, but not a shock to me personally as was the case with Johnny Cash. I kinda lost my shit with that one.

Yeah, but I kind of expected it with Cash. Especially with the whole “Hurt” cover. That was like a big goodbye.
You know, I never once believed that Jackson fucked around with kids. He was insane, clearly, but I think he was just completely asexual. I just think his kid brain never matured past that 8-year-old state, making him more interested in hanging out with kids than adults. Kids don’t care about or want your fucking money. Their parents, however, clearly do.

I remember that commercial. That’s Carlton from Fresh Prince in the Beat It jacket, if you care.
I was infatuated with Michael Jackson in 1984-85. Thriller was spun daily on my Fisher Price record player. I recall sitting in front of pre-Hills MTV waiting for Michael Jackson, “Weird” Al Yankovic or Van Halen to come on in that order. I was terrified of Thriller’s video until I was a teenager, but obsessed with the song. I coveted the jackets of the kids I went to school with that had them. The gloves, too. I wrote him a letter when his hair caught on fire during a Pepsi shoot. I thought I’d never make it in a world without him. Now the day is here and I’m OK with it.
Mostly because I’m with Shady on the maturing thing. I hope he was just goofed. I hope he never touched or betrayed a child’s trust like that. But considering most of them are grown now, you’d think they’d speak out at some point if it were true.
I was always more angry at him for the crap he was doing to himself. All the plastic surgery and whatnots.
Love the new header, JS. Now THERE’S a guy I still miss…

Lou Reed is my idol – I absolutely love his music, have since I was 15, and I know every word and note of every last song…
The thing is, I know that in real life he is a right twat, but I still love him.

I have Lou Reed’s email address!
I’ve never heard that he’s a douche, but I guess I can see that. Having all that money and being so influential for so long, that shit can’t help but affect a guy.
And thanks, Josh! Glad you dig the new header. Marla said it makes her both happy and sad. Me, too.

You do not!
To be fair to him, I think he keeps most of his venom for journalists and music critics…but he is notoriously had to please.
But, I have never met him, so what do I know!
Doesn’t matter though: he could go around punching old ladies in the thorax all day and I would still love him…

Actually… I DO have his email address.
We have a friend in common, and every once in awhile an email blast goes out where they forget to use BCC. I also have him on my IM and see him pop up every once in awhile.
MWA-HA-HA!
I’d never do anything with it though. Don’t want to betray trust and all that.
