…thanks to all you morons who voted for bigotry yesterday.
To you, I pass along this message that I wrote to all the Californian bigots a few months back. I’d write you your own post, but you’re not worth the time.

thanks Justin. I just heard that on NPR this morning. The guy’s speech about how they’re supposedly protecting the sanctity of marriage or whatever was so idiotic. UGHGHGHGHGHG

This is really depressing. Letting Homosexuals get married destroys the sanctity of marriage, but 60 plus percent of marriage ending in divorce is ok.

Exactly. Straight people have done AWESOME with marriage. That’s why almost everyone I know has parents who are divorced.

I still don’t know what the big deal is. So fuckin’ what they get married, how is that destroying the sanctity of marriage? The divorce rate is though the roof and climbing. According to whom? According to those that claim to be holier than thou, yet spread hate? According to those that smile through infidelity, and abuse to save social face? According to the (insert denomination) church that is overflowing with hypocracy, greed, sexual abuse, and political scandals? How is a piece of paper upholding this so called sanctity of a couple have no religious affiliation? Are the married athiest upholding god’s word. Nope! What about satanist, or wicans, or native americans? On the flip side, why is it so important to have that legal document saying that you are bound by law? Why is being commited to the person you love in your heart and mind not enough? Is it because they are being told NO that is fueling this push for the legalization of gay marriage? I understand that the gay community wants equality, but what are they really getting out of it? They get shared financial staus, a few tax issues and a legal headache if it doesn’t work out. None of that makes a damn bit of difference in the matters of the heart.
I do have a problem with the fact that many employers will not allow straight domestic partners to have insurance, yet gay partners are able to get full benefits.

Agreed. It should be equal for everyone, across the board. Kathy and I are lucky, though, because we can be domestic partners in California. I’m covered by her health insurance. Thank Christ.

It all comes down to the fact that they think Homosexuality is evil. They would just assume murder every gay person in the country if they could, but that of coarse is illegal. This is there last legal chance to keep “evil” at bay. I just find it comical that these “Christians” are breaking one of their own cardinal rule, “Judge not, lest ye be judged”. Of coarse they conveniently forget that. But then again, God hates gays, not them. RIGHT.

Christianity is chock full of changing the rules to suit the leaders of the time. King James version anyone…anyone? How about when they altered chritianity to be more fun and exciting to convert peagans? Conversion with candy is so much easier than killing in the name of god. The Vatican omiting huge chunks of the original text for politcal power. Speaking of killing, there is just too damn much of it in the name of god. Why?
Fucking Footloose, man.

It’s more than just being recognized as partners by the law, it’s wanting to be seen as the same as straight partners. I agree it is always more about the heart and loving each other, but that doesn’t change the fact that everyone should have equal rights to get married if that’s what they want to do.
