…KB and I checked out two pieces of street art.
First, we went downtown and hit up the second piece that Banksy left when he was in town last week for the premiere of “Exit Through the Gift Shop.”
Here’s the whole piece (click on all images to view larger versions):

Here’s a picture of KB jumping in front of it:
Then we hit up this Shepard Fairey piece that popped up on the side of a building on Melrose Avenue a few weeks ago. The piece is a collage of huge sheets of wheat-paste posters.
Here’s the entire building:

I never really knew who Banksy was. I know i had heard the name, but didn’t think about checking him out until you told me about him on Sunday. It is pretty cool. I am interested in seeing the movie now.

Banksy and Shepard Fairey are both are good, but are apples and oranges. I much prefer Fairey. I went to see his exhibition in Newcastle a couple of years ago and it was amazing.

I agree with PaulyS, very different styles and both good in their own ways.
I am in awe of Shepard Fairey’s detail.

Yeah, Shepard’s stuff over the last ten years or so has gotten highly detailed. You should check out some of his prints here: http://obeygiant.com/fine-art
