Governor Scott Walker (who, I’m convinced, is the Antichrist) has taken to having protestors of any kind, or anyone holding any sign for that matter, arrested from the state capitol.
Check out this video of people holding signs (literally, just that) being arrested…
…and then read this article about Walker’s installation of panic buttons.
Take back Wisconsin,

No shit. It’s awful. And it makes me feel terrible for the state.

It’s not the governer, it’s the new Capital police chief. He’s only enforcing the law which has been on the books for years but the old chief never enforced it.

And it shouldn’t be enforced, obviously, because it’s asinine. You’re right, it does fall on the capital police chief, but do you think there hasn’t been any pressure from Walker here? I find it really hard to believe.

The guy was Walker’s body guard before he was appointed. You can’t tell me that Walker didn’t directly mandate this.

I live in Madison and totally agree with the policy. You should se it down there some times. It’s not just the signs, the people are downright rude. I’m all for there right but do it with respect and dignity. Like the old saying “a few ruin it for everyone.” If the law states you need a permit to assemble in the rotunda and you don’t have one then time to enforce it. How many other states allow this?
A security button is also being installed for capital workers who feel threatened for their safety because of assembled protesters. It does get that bad at times, I’ve seen it.

So what you’re saying is that because a handful of stupid people sometimes get unruly and do dumb shit, there should be a police state at the capitol making it illegal for ANY peaceful protestors to express their First Amendment rights? Seriously?
How many other states allow the FREEDOM OF SPEECH? Ummm… one second, let me ask my Magic 8 Ball. Oh, it says ALL OF THEM.
And the security button stuff is just ridiculous. Come on. You mean to tell me that people are actually scared for their lives because of how much people hate Scott Walker? I don’t buy it. And even if so, it sounds extremely reactionary/ridiculous to me to install panic buttons at people’s desks. All that does is promote the feeling of the capitol being a dangerous place, when it clearly isn’t.
Let people protest. What is more American than that?

It’s hard to be civil when your rights — that people fought for and suffered to achieve years ago — are being rudely stripped by a petty Governor. A worthless human being who is only trying to eradicate unions so he can cut off funds to the Democratic party.

Exactly.

You CAN protest just not in the areas they are without a permit, which others obtain, like the blood drive in the video. They had to apply for a permit also, not just set up shop because the capital is “owned by the people.” A permit can be obtained in a couple of days. Other states can take months to receive one and my point from before is most all states require a permit to assemble. Don’t need a Magic 8 ball to figure that out.

True, most states require a permit to organize and carry out a protest, but most states don’t actually adhere to the law because the wait time most people have to go through is unrealistic. And that’s if they permit is even approved.
In this case, and maybe this is just me being cynical about how fair Scott Walker can actually be, I highly doubt anyone looking to obtain a permit to protest against him will actually be approved.
So I say forget the law and storm the castle.
