My good friend Brandon…

…asked why Journey is in the banner this week.

Lately, I’ve been going about picking images for the site’s banner in a different way: I ask KB to say the first word that comes to mind. I then do a Google image search for that word and pick the best (or sometimes worst) option available.

Last night, KB’s word was “journey.” So there you have it.

But even if KB hadn’t picked it, do I need an excuse to have Journey in the banner?

2012 was a great year for “The Blarg”…

…because in addition to finally breaking the half-million views mark, the site was also viewed by people in 174 countries!

“The Blarg” hits a half million all-time views!

And it only took four and a half years,

I haven’t been updating “The Blarg” much…

…in the last two weeks. Obviously.

First of all, Wi-Fi is about what you’d expect in Thailand. Pretty scarce. But also, our trip was a much needed break from everything, including “The Blarg.”

I figured the site’s traffic would be low while I was gone. I was wrong.

On Wednesday, November 7th, the site had its best traffic day ever with 35,237 visitors. The day before was the site’s second best day with 34,360 visitors. Both days got their boost when someone posted a link to my Mickey Mouse suicide post on Reddit.

The new high shatters the previous best-day total by nearly 18,000 visits. (In June of last year, Nirvana linked to “The Blarg” on its Facebook page.) In fact, the new one-day high beats any entire month total ever achieved in the history of the site.

So thanks to whoever posted that link on Reddit! I owe you one. Or, more accurately, 35,237.
