…since her surgery a little over a month ago.

In a word: WONDERFULLY.

Mr. Fabulous’ oral melanoma was “highly spreadable” with over a 90% chance of the cancer appearing elsewhere in her body. After a plethora of tests (including lung X-rays, lymph node aspirates, and more poking and prodding than I’m sure she cared for), for right now at least, it appears as if the cancer hadn’t spread. In the doctor’s words: “This is a best-case scenario of a horrible situation.”

Of course, that isn’t to say it won’t pop up again somewhere down the road, but for right now we’re just happy to have her here.

Her scars, both internally on her gums/maxilla and externally on her lip, have healed wonderfully, and other than a grinning smirk (which honestly just looks kind of badass) you would never know she went through a highly invasive, three-hour-long surgery.

To be read: Though this was a shitballs situation, we’ve been extremely fortunate with the outcome so far.

As of today, she’s received three of a series of four vaccinations, which further cut down on the chances of the cancer spreading. After her fourth vaccination in two weeks, she’ll receive checkups every three months for the next year. After that, she will be reassessed and a new checkup schedule will be chosen.

All of this is to say that this is a process, obviously, and we’re just approaching and dealing with it one step at a time.

So how is Mr. Fabulous recovering? Well, we’re back to balancing things on her head, so she must be doing pretty damn well.

She's back!

Thanks to everyone for their love and support. If Mr. Fabulous could speak, we’re sure she’d thank you herself. And then she’d probably let out a huge fart.

Horribly wonderful,

-Shady
