Trying desperately not to buy art,

…and we started off at the Billy Shire Fine Arts gallery in Culver City for the closing of Dave McKean’s exhibition “New Works Inspired by Early Cinema.”

Check out this sweet Nosferatu piece that was there:

If I had an extra twenty grand laying around (or twenty grand at all) I would have become the proud owner of a McKean that night.

Next, we hopped on over to Merry Karnowsky Gallery for the opening of Camille Rose Garcia’s new “Alice in Wonderland”-themed exhibition “Down the Rabbit Hole.” The work was from her new book, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

There were two other exhibitions on display in the gallery: Victor Castillo’s “Strange Fruit” and Miss Van’s “She-Wolves.”

I was able to shoot off a few photos with my camera (sorry for the crappy quality), so click on any of the following images to see them bigger.

Here’s a piece from Victor Castillo:

And here’s a piece from Miss Van:

On the other side of the gallery was Camille Rose Garcia’s exhibition. It was awesome. Here are a few shots from that:

Just before we left, KB decided to buy a piece! She grabbed a limited edition print of this:

We’re gonna hang it above our kid’s bed. Now all we need is a bed… and a kid.

Buy art,
