…KB and I were in Istanbul with some friends.

Every time we visit a new city/country we take a “jumping” photo. But when you’re dealing with five people (and a camera on a timer) it takes some time to get everyone synced up.

These were taken in the courtyard between the Yeni Cami (New Mosque) and the Mısır Çarşısı (Spice Bazaar).

Harry and I got the hang of it pretty quickly…

Our first attempt at an Istanbul jump!

…only to lose it immediately thereafter. This photo also makes it look like KB is kicking Rebecca in the ass.

Our second attempt at an Istanbul jump!

This one is just a total fail.

Our third attempt at an Istanbul jump!

As is this one, save for KB who looks amazing.

Our fourth attempt at an Istanbul jump!

Rebecca looks like she’s throwing in an old “SIEG HEIL!” salute on this one. Also, the guy staring at us there on the right is amazing.

Our fifth attempt at an Istanbul jump!

Girls: 3, Boys: 0.

Our sixth attempt at an Istanbul jump!

Girls: 0, Boys: 2.

Our seventh attempt at an Istanbul jump!

So close… but not really.

Our eighth attempt at an Istanbul jump!

Finally! Five people all in the air at once! About damn time.

Finally! Success!

And it only took us… forever.

Hoping to jump in London and Havana later this year,

…there was the House of Hungarian Wines in Budapest.

One year later, it was followed by a night at the Cool Kids Bar in Brussels.

And this year, we hit up the North Shield Pub in Istanbul, where everyone was feeling friendly on their first drink.

The North Shield: Drink #1

By drink number two, Emily was already looking forward to drink number three, Rebecca was politely trying to discourage her from doing so (in an attempt to avoid the debauchery of last year’s events at the Cool Kids Bar), Harry was amusing himself by being sexually suggestive with items from our basket of fried foods, and KB was completely over the whole affair.

The North Shield: Drink #2

Trouble in Coupleville started at drink number three, with Rebecca shooting Harry the stink-eye (also known as the “I think you’ve had enough” face), and Emily making fun of KB’s inability to keep up. Yes, Emily and KB are a couple when they travel together. Hot!

The North Shield: Drink #3

And then came the violence of drink number four. Or at least the violence of Harry, Rebecca, and Emily, while KB tried to flag down our waiter for the check.

The North Shield: Drink #4

Drink number five caused drowsiness… which, apparently, didn’t stop Emily from being able to hold up her beer. KB benefited by enjoying the entire second basket of fried foods all by herself.

The North Shield: Drink #5

When all was said and done though, the love kicked back in with our sixth and final drink of the night. So much, in fact, that Harry felt comfortable placing his hand on his wife’s chest for the photo, thus proving that Rebecca was also drunk enough to be okay with it.

And then Emily and KB made out… but we’ll save those photos for another time.

The North Shield: Drink #6

Can’t wait for next year’s rounds,

…we will be back from spending ten days in Berlin…

…and four days in Istanbul.

Hence, the painfully long delay in updates here on “The Blarg.”

That delay is over as of today.

Stay tuned,

That's nobody's business but the Turks.

Five weeks,

Yeah, it’s a day late but I still wanted to share,

Have a wonderful feast, beasts.

I know I said over a month ago that our new children’s book, “I Beg Your Pardon: The Tale of a Jerky Turkey,” was available for purchase, but unfortunately we ran into some printing issues that delayed its release.

But no more! The book is OFFICIALLY and HONESTLY and FINALLY available!

You can order your copy here, and if you order before October 15th you can save 15% by using the coupon code “FALLREAD305” before checking out.

Sorry for all the confusion and delay. Beth and I have been fielding emails about these errors for the past month so it feels really good to finally be able to make it available to everyone.

Thanks for the support! Bethany, Marla and I hope you enjoy the book!

Feels like a million years in the making,

Around this time last year, my sister Bethany and I were excited for the release of our new children’s book “I Beg Your Pardon: The Tale of a Jerky Turkey.”

Unfortunately, the publisher (who from here on out shall forever remain nameless) chose to pull the plug on the book… even though it was supposed to be already printed and shipped by the time it was canceled.

Can you sense the bitterness?

Anyway, the good news is that the book is finally available for purchase! Co-written by Bethany and me, and illustrated by our good friend Marla Campbell, “I Beg Your Pardon” tells the tale of a jerky turkey named Sage who comes beak-to-beak with his own mortality as Thanksgiving fast approaches.

I’m really proud of this book and glad it’s finally available. It was awesome to be able to tackle a project with both Bethany and Marla. Hopefully our love for and dedication to this book will be apparent.

The book is $14.00 through Lulu and you can order your copy here. We really wish we could have made the book cheaper (and hardcover; in order to make it as affordable as possible we had to settle on paperback), but we made it as cheap as Lulu would allow.

Here’s a preview of the first five pages (click each image for a larger version):

So pick up a copy if you can, and thanks for the continued support!

About time,

May your day be filling!

I’m a trypto-fan,

Old Poop!
